Do you have a 90 day play?

Business doesn’t just happen, it requires setting goals, designing strategies, defining tactics, and implementing tasks defined by the tactical plan.

Of course none of this would have any value if it’s not acted upon. The 90 day plan is your friend, it is your map to success one step at a time. The 90 day plan has to be constructed from an overall plan that defines your business objectives within the next 3 – 5 years.

What you need to have in your 90 day plan is some details that will help you achieve your defined goals in 90 day increments. Here's what you’ll need to have in your plan:

  • The What – List all of the tasks that are necessary to achieving your goals. These tasks must be clearly defined with specific results
  • The Time – Establish a specific time frame for each task completion and make sure it is tracked properly
  • The Who – Who will be responsible for undertaking the work that must be done, how many persons will it take to complete the plan
  • Proficiency – What background must each member have in order to accomplish their task efficiently? What training do they need to have? Is training considered in the plan?
  • The Accountability – Who will be accountable for the results? What are the rewards and consequences?
  • The Results – Are you getting the results that you expect? If not, you must make some changes and integrate them into your plan. This should be an on-going process to improve your plan

If you start with your overall plan and break it down to 90 day increments and follow through, achieving your goals will be much easier as long as they’re attainable and have a realistic time frame.
